Falling In Love With My BFF Christelle

Christelle Tachon Modeling Photo

Christelle Tachon is a marvelous and interesting person.  She’s a native of France who has made a name for herself in the hotel business in the US.  Currently the sales manager for The Westgate Hotel in San Diego, Christelle also has the charm, poise and beauty of a fashion model. In fact, her portfolio is full of a diverse variety of looks and poses.

I met Christelle when staying at another hotel where she worked nearly ten years ago, The Lafayette in San Diego.  She and I hit it off right away, as I always gravitate toward people who will speak French with me!  She is bright and lively as well as beautiful, and she is a daring adventurer.  Beware, guys — she loves adrenaline rushes like roller coasters, skydiving and mountain climbing.  Could you keep up with her?

In the first of several video interviews you will see how caring and emotional she is as we reminisce about how we met and how our friendship has grown through the years.

This won’t be the last time you see or hear from Christelle in my podcasts because she is an on-going part of my life.

I think you will fall in love with Christelle Tachon as I have done.

Resetting The Sleep Cycle

This is The Renegade Doctor, Estelle Toby Goldstein, MD and I’m pleased to present what I call an audio podcast with pictures. Sleep is involved in most psychiatric conditions and sleep deprivation can mimic a psychiatric condition.

When I was a surgical resident we had to work long shifts with no sleep.  It was a macho thing and there weren’t very many lady surgeons!  A few years ago, laws were passed requiring a sleep period.  After all, would YOU want some sleep-deprived doctor cutting you open?  Then, earlier this year, they rolled back that rule and once again there are lots of sleep surgeons out there.

Dr. Goldstein as Minnie Mouse

Operations can be grueling — especially in neurosurgery (my field) –and last 10, 12, 18 or more hours! I’m glad I changed my specialty to psychiatry.

Lack of sleep can make you delerious.  And if you have any existing troubles — such as bipolar illness — it can trigger real problems.

Basic care for yourself ought to include adequate nutrition and hydration and sleep.  Then — maybe you won’t have to see a doctor!

So for the next 15 minutes, enjoy my first-audio podcast.

Welcome to the premiere of The Renegade Podcast!  This is a good introduction to those who don’t know me.  I am serious about medicine and helping people, but I love to have fun and I love to network.

In this video, you will meet Mona Jones, clinical hypnotherapist.  Mona immediately impressed me with her knowledge and skill, and I gladly refer patients to her.  Because hypnotherapy is not psychological counseling — But Mona will explain that and how she fits into the team concept of psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and hypnotherapist.

If you enjoy this video — help me spread the word.  I will be producing both audio and video podcasts on a regular basis. Please let me know how you like this, and give me ideas on what interests you — because you are the reason I am here!
